As a young girl, I experienced the strong call to priesthood while in my Catholic grade school. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, I was the second youngest of five children. Unable to follow the invitation at that time, I embraced the life, spirituality and ministry of a Franciscan Sister, entering the convent in 1965 and making my final vows 1972. While in the congregation, I ministered by teaching high school biology, algebra and physical science and I and served as vocation director and postulant director for the congregation for eight years as well. Suffice it to say, after years of vowed religious life, I left the convent for many complicated reasons.
I was the pastoral associate of a Roman Catholic parish community, in Indiana, for 25 years, facilitating pastoral and spirituality programs and outreach ministries.
I hold Masters in Spirituality from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, and a BS in Biology from Marian (College) University. Additionally, I earned a Washington Theological Union certificate in Theological Studies and also a certificate in Pastoral Family Life from the University of Mt. St. Joseph, Cincinnati.
The call to priesthood was becoming clearer and more convincing in my life when I read of the RCWP movement. I applied to enter into the program for priesthood ordination in 2007. For family reasons I needed to have catacomb status. Thus, my ordinations as both a deacon, in 2009, and a priest, in 2010, were private. I was no longer a catacomb priest when I was elected as the Midwest’s second bishop by the members when the first bishop retired. In June of 2014 I was ordained a bishop, in Brownsburg, Indiana, by the retiring bishop along with seven other bishops, from Europe, Canada and the US.
I now pastor the Brownsburg Inclusive Catholic Community and minister with members from Brownsburg and the western Indianapolis area. The community meets on the second and fifth Sundays of the month for Eucharistic Liturgy. All are welcome to worship and be included at the table of love and communion. I now serve the Midwest region as its second Bishop,
Gardening is my joy and hobby as well as studying the mystics. I continue to companion others on their spiritual journey.
